 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yoga techniques are intended to rejuvenate and bring into proper balance, all aspects of the body.  The practice of yoga is designed to lead the student to an ever-increasing knowledge of the self and the needs of the body/mind in order to achieve and maintain good physical and mental health and spiritual harmony.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that will not bind you. Layers are optimal. We practice in bare feet, but bring warm socks; you may want to wear them for the last part of class when we deeply relax. Make sure that any loose clothing can be belted or tucked in.

What do I need to bring to class?

You will need to purchase an inexpensive yoga mat for your practice and bring a blanket or two. By all means, bring what will make you feel at home! We do have some extra mats and blankets.  We also have blocks and straps if needed.

How should I prepare?

It's best to practice on an empty stomach, so either come before a meal or eat lightly if you need to eat. If you're new to the practice the best way to prepare is to nurture a sense of relaxed adventure. Yoga happens most easily in a relaxed body and mind.
In consideration for your fellow practitioners, please refrain from wearing perfume or highly scented cosmetics to class.

Please consult your physician before starting any exercise program.
